Red Robin Campfire Sauce
Red Robin’s Campfire Sauce is the reason people order their bottomless fries. It is a smoky, creamy, tangy sauce that works as a dip for fries, onion rings, chicken strips — basically anything you put in front of it. The good news is that it takes about two minutes to make at home with ingredients you probably already have.
A side of campfire sauce at Red Robin costs $1-2 and you get maybe two tablespoons. This recipe makes a full cup for pennies.
Why Make It at Home?
It takes two minutes. Five ingredients. No cooking. You can make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for a week. Put it on burgers, use it as a sandwich spread, dip your fries in it. Once you have it on hand, you will find excuses to use it.
Tips & Variations
- Use hickory BBQ sauce specifically. Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar is the closest match to the restaurant version. A Kansas City-style or honey BBQ will taste noticeably different.
- Make it spicier. Add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce for a kicked-up version.
- Thin it out for drizzling. Add a teaspoon of water or pickle juice to make it thin enough to drizzle over a burger or sandwich.
