Sqirl is Jessica Koslow's East Hollywood café — opened 2012 on Virgil Avenue — that put LA brunch on the global map. The rice bowls, house-made jams, and ricotta toast generated a years-long pre-10am line and earned a place on Bon Appétit's Best New Restaurants list. The sorrel pesto rice bowl, with its tahdig-style cast-iron crispy rice, poached egg, and house-made preserved lemon, became one of the most Instagrammed dishes in Los Angeles.
