Emeril Lagasse Copycat Recipes

Emeril Lagasse grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts and trained at Johnson & Wales University before being hired at age 23 by owner Ella Brennan as executive chef of Commander's Palace in New Orleans. He opened his own flagship restaurant, Emeril's, in the New Orleans Warehouse District in 1990 and has since expanded to restaurants across the US. His Food Network shows The Essence of Emeril and Emeril Live turned him into one of the most recognized chefs in America — and his eight-spice Creole seasoning blend, Essence (also called Bayou Blast), published in New New Orleans Cooking (William Morrow, 1993), became the most-copied celebrity chef spice blend in American home kitchens.
