Giordano's Copycat Recipes

Giordano's invented Chicago stuffed deep dish pizza in 1974 when brothers Efren and Joseph Boglio adapted their mother's Italian Easter pie (Torta Pasqualina) into a two-crust pizza format. Their signature: two layers of dough sandwiching an enormous mozzarella and sausage filling, with chunky tomato sauce spread on top of the upper crust — a construction that gives every slice all five components in one bite.
