Horses Copycat Recipes

Horses was the Hollywood restaurant at 7617 Sunset Boulevard — the former Hamburger Hamlet space — that became one of Los Angeles' hardest reservations within weeks of opening in August 2022. Chefs Will Aghajanian and Liz Johnson (alumni of Sqirl and Night + Market) built a menu of shareable, deeply satisfying New American food: endive Caesar, smoked salmon lavash, a cheeseburger. The most famous dish was 'The Herman' — an off-menu spicy 'nduja vodka pasta in shell pasta, broiled until the top is charred and crispy, named after designer Thomas Schoos who redesigned the space. The restaurant closed in late December 2025 and is planning to reopen at a new Sunset Strip location.
