Salt & Straw is the Portland, Oregon artisan ice cream shop founded in 2011 by cousins Tyler Malek and Kim Malek — built on a French-style egg-yolk custard base, locally sourced ingredients, and seasonal series that make each flavor as deliberate as a restaurant dish. The Halloween series (five new flavors every September 25th) and the Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons are the two things that turned a single cart on Northeast Alberta Street into 20+ locations across Portland, LA, SF, San Diego, Seattle, and Disney Springs.
