Sister Schubert's Copycat Recipes

Sister Schubert's was founded by Patricia Barnes in Troy, Alabama, in 1991, based on her grandmother's Parker House roll recipe. Barnes first sold the rolls at a frozen food fair at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Troy in 1989, received 200 pre-orders the following year, and launched the business from her home kitchen before moving into her family's furniture warehouse in 1992. T. Marzetti Company (a Lancaster Colony subsidiary) acquired the brand in 2000 and took it national; by 2018, the operation was producing over 9 million rolls a day. The Parker House–style yeast rolls — soft, slightly sweet, buttered, and baked in a pull-apart format — are a fixture of Southern Thanksgiving tables and available in grocery store freezer aisles nationwide. A 16-count, 10-oz bag retails for about $4.49.
