V8 Original Vegetable Juice was developed around 1933 by W.G. Peacock at the New England Products Company, named for the eight vegetable juices in its formula: tomato, carrot, celery, beet, parsley, lettuce, watercress, and spinach. Campbell Soup Company acquired the brand in 1948. Tomatoes make up roughly 70–75% of the formula. A 46-oz bottle retails for about $3.63 at Walmart.
